How It Works

Our Approach

Children are not small adults — their spines and nervous systems are developing rapidly, and the right approach changes completely between an infant, a school-age child, and a teenager. We use extremely gentle, low-force techniques specifically designed for pediatric patients, and step up to more standard but still age-appropriate adjustments as teens grow. For kids, we focus on early spinal development, colic and ear infections, sleep, growing pains, and the effects of heavy backpacks and screen time. For teens, the picture shifts: sports injuries (especially in football, soccer, gymnastics, and cheer), posture and tech-neck from phone and laptop use, scoliosis screening, and growth-spurt back pain become the priority. Dr. Bang's FNP credentials add an extra layer of safety — if anything we see during evaluation suggests a non-mechanical cause, he can refer or co-manage appropriately.

Got Questions?

Frequently Asked Questions

At what age can a child see a chiropractor?

Children can benefit from chiropractic care at any age, even as newborns. Birth itself can place significant stress on a baby's spine and nervous system. Our pediatric adjustments are incredibly gentle — using no more pressure than you'd use to test the ripeness of a tomato.

Do you treat teenagers?

Yes — teens are one of our most common patient groups. We see a lot of sports injuries (football, soccer, gymnastics, cheer), posture and tech-neck issues from phone and laptop use, scoliosis concerns, and back pain that comes with rapid growth spurts. Teen care uses age-appropriate adjustment techniques that are gentler than adult adjustments but more involved than infant care. Dr. Bang's FNP background also means he can screen for sports-related concerns that go beyond the spine.

Is chiropractic safe for children?

Absolutely. Pediatric chiropractic care uses very gentle, low-force techniques that are completely different from adult adjustments. Dr. Bang has specialized training in pediatric care and tailors every adjustment to the child's age and size.

What signs might indicate my child needs chiropractic care?

Common signs include frequent ear infections, colic, difficulty sleeping, poor posture, complaints of back or neck pain, headaches, and uneven gait or movement patterns. For teens, watch for sports injuries that aren't healing, persistent neck pain after long screen sessions, and complaints of back pain during growth spurts. Even children without obvious symptoms can benefit from wellness check-ups.

How often does a child need to be adjusted?

It depends on the child's specific needs. Some children respond quickly and only need occasional wellness visits, while others with specific conditions may need a short series of visits. We'll create a plan based on your child's individual evaluation.
